Question 1

How quickly can I get set up?

Accepted Answer

Most clients are live within 24 hours of signing up. We handle the onboarding — you provide your greeting script and call-handling preferences, then forward your number to us. That's it.

Question 2

Do I need any special equipment or software?

Accepted Answer

None at all. AnswerTrue works with your existing phone number. You simply forward calls to us — no hardware, no apps, no IT setup required.

Question 3

Can I keep my current phone number?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You keep your existing number. We provide a forwarding number that your calls route through. Your clients always see your number on caller ID.

Question 4

What information do I need to provide before going live?

Accepted Answer

We'll ask for your business name, a greeting script, instructions for common call types (take a message, transfer, schedule), and any key information your receptionists should know — like your hours, services, and staff names.

Question 5

Are these real people answering my calls?

Accepted Answer

Yes — every call is answered by a trained, live receptionist. We do not use automated systems or AI voice bots to handle your callers.

Question 6

What happens when a call comes in?

Accepted Answer

Your receptionist answers using your custom greeting, follows your call-handling script, and either takes a message, transfers the call, or schedules an appointment — depending on your instructions.

Question 7

How do I receive messages from calls?

Accepted Answer

Messages are delivered instantly via email and SMS after each call. You can also view a full call log in your client dashboard at any time.

Question 8

Can receptionists transfer calls to me or my team?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Warm transfers are included on Professional and Enterprise plans. You can set rules for which call types get transferred, to which numbers, and during which hours.

Question 9

What languages do your receptionists speak?

Accepted Answer

Our receptionists are fluent in English. Bilingual English/Spanish coverage is available on Professional and Enterprise plans — let us know during onboarding.

Question 10

Is there a setup fee or contract?

Accepted Answer

No setup fees and no contracts. All plans are month-to-month. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time with no penalties.

Question 11

What counts as a "call" for billing purposes?

Accepted Answer

Any inbound call answered by a receptionist counts as one call, regardless of duration. Spam calls, wrong numbers, and calls under 30 seconds are not counted.

Question 12

What happens if I go over my plan's call limit?

Accepted Answer

On Starter and Professional plans, additional calls beyond your monthly limit are billed at $1.25 per call. Enterprise includes unlimited calls with no overage charges.

Question 13

Can I change plans mid-month?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing cycle so you keep your current coverage through the end of the month.

Question 14

Do unused calls roll over?

Accepted Answer

Unused calls do not roll over to the next month. Your plan resets on your billing date each month.

Question 15

What hours are receptionists available?

Accepted Answer

Starter covers standard business hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–6pm local time). Professional extends to evenings and Saturdays. Enterprise includes 24/7/365 live coverage.

Question 16

What happens to calls outside my coverage hours?

Accepted Answer

Calls outside your covered hours go to a professional voicemail with your custom greeting. Messages are transcribed and delivered to you by email and SMS.

Question 17

Can I temporarily pause or adjust my service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can update your call-handling instructions, forwarding rules, or coverage hours at any time through your client dashboard or by contacting your account manager.
